Four Corners Materials Receives CAPA Award

On February 6^th, Four Corners Materials received a CAPA Award at the 30^th Annual “Best in Colorado” Asphalt Pavement Awards Program held in Denver, CO. This award was for “Best in Colorado”, Category 1 Smoothness.

Having been the prime contractor for CDOT’s State Highway 172 project, located in Ignacio/Durango Colorado, Four Corners Materials was awarded for the paving within this project. “Best in Colorado” Awards are determined based on overall appearance, segregation, longitudinal and transverse joints, ride quality, project size, and complexity.

The CO 172 Ignacio Resurfacing project began in Ignacio, CO, continuing north for 16.7 miles to the junction of US 160 in Durango, CO. In addition to resurfacing the highway, culvert improvements were made to enhance highway drainage and infrastructure.  Four Corners Materials placed approximately 60,000 tons of asphalt for this project.
